OKPOP Presents: Nash Homecoming
OKPOP Visits Watonga with Clarence Nash’s Grandson to Celebrate Donald Duck’s Oklahoma Roots.
In October, we went on a road trip to Watonga, Oklahoma with Clarence Nash’ grandson, Ed Galbreath. It was his first time to visit his famous grandfather’s hometown. Clarence Nash, the original voice of Donald Duck for more than fifty years, was born in Watonga and spent his formative years in the western Oklahoma community where his family settled after the 1892 land run that opened much of the Cheyenne and Arapaho lands for public settlement.
At OKPOP, our partnership with Oklahoma’s creatives and their families is important to us. We are building this museum together, and we simply couldn’t do this without them. We are grateful for the Nash/Galbreath family and their support of OKPOP! And, a museum about Oklahoma pop culture would be incomplete without Clarence Nash.
